Describing the lokpal bill as a pathbreaking legislation, Gandhi on Wednesday urged Hazare to accept it.

Addressing the Congress Parliamentary Party, Gandhi said no other party had done as much as the Congress to fight corruption.

Describing as a canard speculation that there were differences between the government and the party, she said there could be different perceptions on some important issues but in the final count both were on the same platform.

Referring to the Burari session of the Congress last December, Gandhi said the party had decided on the steps to fight corruption and delivered on those promises.

The government, she said, had brought the whistleblowers bill, put in place the grievances redressal mechanism, the Lokpal bill, and the citizens charter.

Referring to the food security bill, she said addressing concerns of the common man was central to the agenda of the United Progressive Alliance.

Gandhi slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for obstructing important legislations that the government was bringing to fight corruption and to address grievances of the people.

The Congress president said the BJP had not reconciled to its defeat in the 2004 Lok Sabha election and then the 2009 elections and thus was creating all possible obstacles in the passage of important legislations.

Briefing journalists on the address, union human resource development minister Kapil Sibal said a canard was being spread that the government and the party were not on the same side on several issues.

Gandhi interacted with party MPs on Wednesday amid challenges galore for the party and the government in the New Year.

Later in the evening, she will also host a dinner for party MPs at a hotel.

The Congress Parliamentary Party meeting on Wednesday morning was the first such meeting to be addressed by Gandhi in the last few months as the Congress President had skipped the monsoon session in July-August on account of being ill.

Gandhi, who is also UPA chairperson, had gone abroad for surgery for an unspecified ailment at that time.

The CPP meeting is also being held at a time when the lokpal bill is being debated intensely.

LUCKNOW: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday reiterated that the central government's funds for development of Uttar Pradesh were being misused by the Mayawati government and, if voted to power, his party would make the state "number one" in the country.

Rahul on Tuesday embarked upon a mass contact programme ahead of the state assembly polls early next year.

"The poor in the state are not getting the benefits of funds being released for them and the development of Uttar Pradesh. It's because the state government is not bothered about the development of Uttar Pradesh and the poor and downtrodden," Gandhi told a gathering in Barabanki, some 30 km from Lucknow.

"If the Congress forms the government in Uttar Pradesh, we assure in 10 years Uttar Pradesh will get to acquire the number one position among all the states in the country," added Gandhi.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched his party's election campaign in Uttar Pradesh by attacking the Mayawati-led BSP government, saying it is corrupt, has siphoned-off central funds and is insensitive to the poor. In a symbolic move, Gandhi began his party's poll campaign Form Phulpur which was his grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru's Lok Sabha constituency. The day also marks Nehru's 123rd birth anniversary.

"Uttar Pradesh has been going backwards. Nehru was an MP from here. There has been no progress in this state. I have been in politics for seven years. In these years, I have learnt the most from the people of Uttar Pradesh," Gandhi said. Phulpur is about 30 kms from Allahabad.

Attacking the Mayawati government, Gandhi alleged that during his visit to Bundelkhand region of the state a few years ago, he had seen drought and poverty.

"The government in Delhi made MNREGA which says every individual should get work. But in Bundelkhand, it was not the case. Crores of rupees which we sent vanished. The BSP workers, contractors profited from them while the poor were left gaping," Gandhi said.

He said that Chief Minister Mayawati had not visited Bundelkhand and the economic package for the region which was sent by the Centre was not used for the people.

"I had gone to the Prime Minister and told him there is drought and poverty in the area. He sanctioned a special package of Rs 7,000 crore but the money did not reach the poor," Gandhi said.

He also mentioned Bhatta-Parsaul, saying agitating farmers were fired at by the police. He alleged that the UP government had grabbed their land and women in the area were assaulted during the agitation.

While addressing the rally, Rahul also slammed the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh for establishing 'mafia rule' in the state.

Gandhi evoked Nehru's name at the beginning of his speech, saying Phulpur was his "karambhoomi (land of work)".

He said Uttar Pradesh had seen a lot of changes, "but no progress".

Gandhi said he had learnt about the problems of the people during his numerous visits to the state.

In the run-up to the rally, Gandhi was the focus of most of the party’s hoardings, posters and banners put on the main crossing and roads leading to the venue, the Railway Ground (Triveninagar) at Jhusi.

A number of posters and banners shown his pictures with Nehru. In many others, Gandhi was present with the slogan, Jawab Hum Denge (We will give a befitting reply), in the backdrop of pictures of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Volunteers of the Congress Seva Dal took out a torch procession on Sunday evening and the slogans focused on Gandhi.

The rally is likely to intensify the war of words between the Congress and the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party.

“Phulpur has now turned into a BSP bastion. So Rahul Gandhi will definitely corner the (chief minister) Mayawati government on the issues concerning development and corruption," said a Congress functionary.

To derive maximum advantage from Gandhi's rally, 10 senior leaders were deputed to take out jan sampark (mass contact) yatras across the state in the coming days. Each yatra will cover nearly 40 assembly constituencies.

Pointing out that Anna Hazare’s continued hunger strike was “a dangerous precedent for a democracy”, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Friday took the debate on corruption a step ahead by suggesting that the lokpal should be a constitutional body accountable to Parliament, like the Election Commission.

Speaking during Zero Hour in Lok Sabha, Gandhi thanked Hazare for articulating the people’s anger and disillusionment over corruption but said, “Individual dictates, no matter how well-intentioned, must not weaken the democratic process.”

“Today, the proposed law is against corruption. Tomorrow, the target may be something less universally heralded. It may attack the plurality of our society and democracy,” he said, as sister Priyanka watched from the visitor’s gallery.

“We speak of a statutory lokpal but our discussions cease at the point of its accountability to the people and the risk that it might itself become corrupt. Why not elevate the debate and fortify the lokpal by making it a constitutional body accountable to Parliament, like the Election Commission of India? I feel the time has come for us to seriously consider this idea,” he said.

Gandhi's "game-changing idea", as he later called it, got the support of social activist Medha Patkar. But Team Anna called it a long-term solution. "You climb hills before you reach Mt Everest," said Kiran Bedi. "Lokpal is a tall hill that will take you to Everest."

The BJP, on its part, asked Gandhi to "stop giving sermons" and instead, persuade the PM to bring changes in the Lokpal Bill. The opposition benches also protested that the MP had raised the issue during Zero Hour without prior notice, prompting an angry response from Congress members. Speaker Meira Kumar put an end to the sparring by saying she had allowed him to speak.

Sources said the surprise move to let Gandhi speak in the House was decided on Friday morning, to dispel the perception that he was deliberately keeping silent. Apart from the lokpal, Gandhi said laws addressing issues such as government funding of elections and parties, transparency in public procurement, proper regulation of sectors that fuel corruption (like land and mining), grievance redressal in public service delivery of old-age pensions and ration cards and continued tax reforms were needed to combat corruption.

New Delhi:
Madam Speaker,

I have been deeply distressed at the developments of the last few days. Many aspects of the situation have caused me anguish.

We are all aware that corruption is pervasive. It operates at every level. The poor may carry its greatest burden but it is an affliction that every Indian is desperate to be rid off. Fighting corruption is as integral to eliminating poverty as is Mahatma Gandhi NREGA or the Land Acquisition Bill. Yet it is equally imperative to the growth and development of our nation.

Madam Speaker, we cannot wish away corruption by the mere desire to see it removed from our lives. This requires a comprehensive framework of action and a concerted political program supported by all levels of the state from the highest to the lowest. Most importantly, it requires firm political will.

Madam Speaker, in the past few years I have travelled the length and breadth of our country. I have met scores of countrymen, rich and poor, old and young, privileged and disempowered who have expressed their disillusionment to me. In the last few months, Annaji has helped the people to articulate this same sentiment. I thank him for that.

I believe that the real question before us as representatives of the people of India today is whether we are prepared to take the battle against corruption head on? It is not a matter of how the present impasse will resolve, it is a much greater battle. There are no simple solutions. To eradicate corruption demands a far deeper engagement and sustained commitment from each one of us.

Witnessing the events of the last few days it would appear that the enactment of a single Bill will usher in a corruption-free society. I have serious doubts about this belief.

An effective Lok Pal law is only one element in the legal framework to combat corruption. The Lok Pal institution alone cannot be a substitute for a comprehensive anti-corruption code. A set of effective laws is required. Laws that address the following critical issues are necessary to stand alongside the Lok Pal initiative:

(1) government funding of elections and political parties,
(2) transparency in public procurement,
(3) proper regulation of sectors that fuel corruption like land and
mining,
(4) grievance redress mechanisms in public service delivery of old
age pensions and ration cards; and
(5) continued tax reforms to end tax evasion.

We owe it to the people of this country to work together across party lines to ensure that Parliament functions at its optimum capacity and delivers these laws in a just and time bound manner.

We speak of a statutory Lok Pal but our discussions cease at the point of its accountability to the people and the risk that it might itself become corrupt. Madam Speaker, why not elevate the
debate and fortify the Lok Pal by making it a Constitutional body accountable to Parliament like the Election Commission of India? I feel the time has come for us to seriously consider this idea.

Madam Speaker, laws and institutions are not enough. A representative, inclusive and accessible democracy is central to fighting corruption.

Individuals have brought our country great gains. They have galvanized people in the cause of freedom and development. However, individual dictates, no matter how well intentioned, must not weaken the democratic process. This process is often lengthy and lumbering. But it is so in order to be inclusive and fair. It provides a representative and transparent platform where ideas are translated into laws. A tactical incursion, divorced from the machinery of an elected Government that seeks to undo the checks and balances created to protect the supremacy of Parliament sets a dangerous precedent for a democracy.

Today the proposed law is against corruption. Tomorrow the target may be something less universally heralded. It may attack the plurality of our society and democracy.

India's biggest achievement is our democratic system. It is the life force of our nation. I believe we need more democracy within our political parties. I believe in Government funding of our political parties. I believe in empowering our youth; in opening the doors of our closed political system; in bringing fresh blood into politics and into this House. I believe in moving our democracy deeper and deeper into our villages and our cities.

I know my faith in our democracy, is shared by members of this House. I know that regardless of their political affiliation, many of my colleagues work tirelessly to realize the ideals upon which our nation was built. The pursuit of truth is the greatest of those ideals. It won us our freedom. It gave us our democracy. Let us commit ourselves to truth and probity in public life. We owe it to the people of India.

He said, "We can't wish away corruption, it will require comprehensive programme of action". We need strong political will to fight corruption, said Rahul Gandhi.

The Lokpal bill was only "one element" to eradicate corruption, Congress MP. The opposition rose in protest, interrupting the speech. "There are no simple solutions to eradicate corruption," Gandhi said.

Anna Hazare has helped articulate public sentiment, I thank him for that, said Rahul.

Rahul called for fortifying the Lokpal Bill by making it a Constitutional body like the Election Commission. We need regulation of sectors that fuel corruption, he said. We must not weaken the democratic process, he said.

Meanwhile, the government and Team Anna are in back channel talks on fresh draft.

Breaking his silence, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday asserted that Lokpal Act alone will not help eradicate corruption, and appeared to disapprove of Anna Hazare’s fast, saying “individual dictates” must not weaken democratic process as dangerous precedents could be set.

Agreeing that “corruption is pervasive” which operates at “every level”, Mr. Gandhi said in the Lok Sabha that a set of effective laws along with creation of an statutory institution of Lokpal like the Election Commission would be required to fight the malaise.

“We cannot wish away corruption by the mere desire to see it removed from our lives. This requires a comprehensive framework of action and a concerted political programme supported by all levels of the State from the highest to the lowest. Most importantly, it requires firm political will,” he said during Zero Hour, amid noisy protests from NDA members.

The Lokpal Bill, 2011, was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 4, 2011 by Shri V. Narayanaswamy, Union Minister of State, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions. The Bill has been referred to the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice. The report of the Committee is expected within three months.
The Bill provides for establishment of the Lokpal for inquiring into complaints of corruption against certain public servants.
The members of the Lokpal shall be appointed by the President on the basis of the recommendations of the Selection Committee.
The Selection Committee shall comprise of the Prime Minister, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Leaders of the Opposition in both houses, a Union Cabinet Minister nominated by the Prime Minister, one sitting judge of the Supreme Court, and one sitting Chief Justice of the High Courts both nominated by the Chief Justice of India, an eminent jurist nominated by the central government and a person of eminence in public life with knowledge of public administration, policy making, anti-corruption policy, vigilance and finance.
The Lokpal shall consist of one chairperson and upto eight other members. The Chairperson shall be a present or former judge of the Supreme Court. Fifty percent of the other members shall be judicial members (judges of the Supreme Court and Chief Justices of the High Court). A non-judicial member is required to have 25 years experience in anti-corruption policy, public administration, vigilance and finance.
A Lokpal can enquire into offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (PCA) committed by:
- the PM once he has demitted the office,
- current and former Union Ministers,
- current and former MPs,
- group A officers and above,
- persons of equivalent ranks in public sector undertakings and other government bodies,
- officers of organizations having an annual income above a specified amount receiving funds from the government or the public.
The Lokpal shall be constituted of two wings: the Investigation Wing and the Prosecution Wing.
The central government is required to constitute Special Courts to hear cases referred to it by the Lokpal under this Bill. The Lokpal shall recommend the number of such courts.
A complaint against the specified officials may be made to the Lokpal for actions committed within seven years of the date of complaint. The Lokpal can ask the Investigation Wing to conduct preliminary investigation of any offence alleged to be committed under the PCA. The Lokpal shall provide the accused with copies of the complaint and secure him a hearing. In case a prima facie case is made out it may then conduct a public inquiry.
If the inquiry concludes that an offence was committed, the Lokpal may recommend disciplinary action to the competent authority. It can also file a case before the Special Court through its Prosecution Wing. The competent authority shall within 30 days of receipt of the recommendation initiate disciplinary proceedings and inform the Lokpal of the action proposed or taken.
The Bill removes the requirement of sanction for initiating investigation and prosecution.
The preliminary investigation or inquiry has to be completed within a maximum period of three months. The following inquiry by the Lokpal is to be completed within a maximum period of one year. The trial before the Special Court is to be completed within a maximum timeframe of two years.
The penalty for filing false and frivolous complaints is imprisonment for a minimum of two years to a maximum of five years and a fine of Rs 25,000 upto Rs 2 lakh.
The Lokpal may be removed by an order of the President on the basis of the report of the Supreme Court on a reference by the President. A reference to the Supreme Court may be made by (a) the President, (b) the President on the basis of a petition signed by 100 Members of the Parliament and (c) the President if he is satisfied on the basis of a petition by a citizen.

Taking a cue from the massive response to Anna Hazare, the Congress loyalists are mounting pressure on top leaders to get rid of "agents" whose power politics has given the 120 years organisation a bad name.

They say party high command Sonia Gandhi and All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Rahul Gandhi should recognise the virtues of loyalists committed to basic principles of Congress.

The concerns about ideology taking a backseat to accommodate those who promise money and muscle power is being talked in the corridors of power in Delhi and Maharashtra.

A senior AICC functionary told DNA: "Anna's agitation should be a wake-up call for the Congress across the country. The massive mass support against corruption is a signal to the ruling Congress. Unless we take strong corrective measures to revert to the ideology- based politics, we are unlikely to win people's support."

Citing an example a political manager said, "To begin with, we have to put an end to power bargain. When former MPCC chief Prabha Rau inducted Narayan Rane into the Congress, they promised him chief minister's post but later settled to minister of revenue. The party has downsized Rane as minister of industries. They used Rane to harass former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for almost four years. There are several such instances where party leadership has adopted such tricks to humiliate established leaders."

The same is the case in the alliance where Udayan Raje (MP) was inducted to downsize deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. But Raje turned the tables against the NCP top brass. Later, he joined the Congress.

A general secretary said: "When the election tickets are issued, they judge the financial worth of the candidate. And it is passed off as electoral merit. If money is integral to electoral politics, how can we combat corruption?"

After Sonia Gandhi returns to work, the Congress Working Committee is likely to indulge in some brain storming on consolidation of the party.

In Maharashtra, MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre-led team has embarked on a campaign to reconnect with the people to explain the party's commitment to people's welfare.

Insiders in the party said: "What is bothering the top leadership is how to overcome Team Anna's August 30 deadline. If we survive that, then we can prepare ourselves for the bigger battle in 2014."

Congress party President, Sonia Gandhi, has been ranked the seventh most powerful woman of the world in the latest list published by the Forbes magazine.

Gandhi, 64, is recouping from unspecified surgery in a US hospital. She is ranked seventh just ahead of US First Lady, Michell Obama.

"Lauded for overseeing heavy economic growth, she is also criticized for tolerating political corruption and failing to forge connections with India's fastest-growing demographic-younger voters," Forbes said about Gandhi.

"Gandhi is an avid scholar of the arts, and holds a degree in oil painting conservation. She recently underwent surgery in the US," it added.

"Of course I am concerned," was his brief response when asked whether he is concerned about the standoff on the Lokpal issue and Hazare's refusal to end the fast.

The AICC general secretary made the remark after coming out of the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting during which Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee briefed party leaders on the Hazare issue.

Though Gandhi did not speak in the meeting, a number of party MPs including some young leaders made their suggestions and put questions to Mukherjee.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has successfully undergone surgery and is presently in the intensive care unit of a hospital, her party announced on Friday. Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi issued a brief statement saying that Gandhi, 64, underwent a surgery on August 4 and the Surgeon has indicated it had been successful.

The statement did not disclose what was the surgery was and where it was performed. Gandhi's children, party general secretary Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are accompanying her. Priyanka's husband Robert Vadra is with them, said Dwivedi.

The party statement requested that Gandhi's privacy be respected. "This is a personal matter that pertains to her health and medical treatment. Her family requests that her privacy be respected," Dwivedi said.

Not only the nature of the surgery, even Sonia's itinerary, including the duration and place of stay (surgery) is being kept under wraps on the advice of the special protection group (SPG) mandated for her security.

Gandhi has deputed a group comprising Rahul, senior party leaders AK Antony, Ahmed Patel and Dwivedi to manage party affairs in her absence.

Greater Noida: Nearly two months after his visit to the epicentre of farmers' protests at Bhatta Parsaul that led to his midnight arrest, Rahul Gandhi made his way to the twin villages again here early this morning throwing a fresh challenge to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

The Congress General Secretary made Bhatta Parsaul, which saw widespread protests over land acquisition two months back, the first stop of his 'Kisan Sandesh Yatra' when he came calling in a car at 6 am drumming up support for the planned kisan mahapanchayat in Aligarh on Saturday.

The Mayawati government refused Rahul permission to hold a kisan mahapanchayat in Bhatta Parsaul in the outkirts of Delhi as the two sides geared up for another round of confrontation ahead of the crucial Assembly elections in UP next year.

Sitting on a rope cot, Rahul looked very much at home, holding a small, beaming child in school uniform on his lap as he talked to villagers. Rahul was accompanied by security personnel.

"Whatever happened in Bhatta Parsaul, other people were not aware of it. I wanted to understand this land acquisition happening here, from here to Agra. This yatra I have started from Bhatta, from here I will to go to villages and I will try to understand this acquisition, the new law and the peoples' opinion on this law. How, where and for whom are the laws getting implemented I want to understand.

"That is why I have come here and will go to other villages to understand the same," he said.

Rahul was arrested by the Mayawati government in Bhatta Parsaul on the night of May 11 and released after a few hours when he had gone there to oppose the police action against farmers during their protests against land acquisition. Four persosn were killed during the police action.

Posted: Wed Jul 06 2011, 04:20 hrsGreater Noida:With the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections less than a year away, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday threw a fresh challenge at Chief Minister Mayawati by visiting the epicentre of the recent farmers' agitation over land acquisition — Bhatta-Parsaul — and launching a padayatra to garner support for his Kisan Mahapanchayat.

The padayatra, Kisan Sandesh Yatra, will culminate on July 9 in Aligarh, where Rahul is scheduled to address the Kisan Mahapanchayat. Rahul will tour villages alongside the Yamuna Expressway till Aligarh.

Till evening, Rahul walked around 25 km on foot, according to UPCC spokesman Akhilesh Pratap Singh, who is accompanying him.

In three villages — Rustampur, Nangla Bhatona and Dayanatpur — he held 'choupals' or informal gatherings, to interact with the villagers.

Starting from Bhatta village in Greater Noida, around 6.30 am, Rahul visited five villages of Gautam Budh Nagar district, meeting farmers and asking them about problems they faced.

Most villagers expressed anguish against land acquisition in the state and complained of insufficient compensation.

In Rustampur, where he held the first choupal, Rahul stayed for almost an hour. "I have come today to meet all of you. I assure you all that the situation of utter chaos in Uttar Pradesh will be normalised. You all should know that I am with you," Rahul told the villagers.

"I went to Bhatta-Parsaul some time ago. Only I and the villagers know the truth of those villages. I know land is the biggest problem here. From Delhi, we tried to resolve your problems but at such far distance it is impossible to understand what you are going through. That is why I have come here," Rahul said at Nangla Bhatona.

SHABOTA: For the first time after starting a campaign against the government's land takeover, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Wednesday attacked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati by name.

Addressing people in a temple complex in this village in Gautam Budh Nagar district, Gandhi said Mayawati was trying to hush up the victims of her land acquisition policy that has sparked mass protests.

"Mayawati declared a new compensation policy but has she ever implemented the existing one?" Gandhi asked the 200-strong crowd that included both men and women.

"Justice has not been done to farmers whose land has been acquired."

The Congress general secretary reached this village shortly after 7 a.m., after trekking three-four kilometres from another village where he spent the night.

Gandhi has been on a 'padayatra' since Tuesday morning protesting against the takeover of farmers' land by the government.

Until he reached Shabota village, about 85 km from Delhi's border, Gandhi had avoided attacking Mayawati by name.

In response to questions from villagers, Gandhi, who was seated on a chair while most people squatted on the ground, said that he was a witness to the plight of farmers whose land had been forcibly acquired.

"Their ancestral land was grabbed by the government without any notice," he said, adding that the administration had not given the farmers "fair rates" for the land.

He went on: "Till now, I have not seen any farmer saying he will not give land for development, for school or hospitals. All they want is justice."

Sensing the mood of the gathering, Gandhi said: "We have to pressure Mayawati... Mayawati's injustice has to end."

Will Section 144 halt Rahul's march?

While Rahul Gandhi continues his padyatra against forcible land acquisition in Uttar Pradesh, officials Wednesday hinted the Congress general secretary's march could come to a halt after he enters Aligarh in the wake of the imposition of Section 144 in the district.

Though officials say the Gandhi scion will surely be allowed to hold the Congress-organised Kisan Mahapanchayat April 9, they are of the view that he will not be allowed to continue his padyatra in Aligarh villages. The district authorities have prohibited any gathering of five or more people under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Though it's not certain when Gandhi will reach Aligarh, some Congress activists expect him to arrive here by late Wednesday.

"The state government has allowed the Congress to hold only Kisan Mahapanchayat, permission has not been given for holding any event. Under such circumstances, Rahul Gandhi might not be allowed to carry forward his padyatra and hold informal meetings with the villagers," a district administration official told IANS.

Gandhi, who has been trying to drum up anti-Mayawati sentiments because of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government's land acquisition policy, launched his padyatra Tuesday.

"We are waiting for the state government's instructions in this regard. The government has given its go-ahead for the Kisan Mahapanchayat but not for any other event," the official added.

Even as Congress activists claim that Section 144 was imposed Wednesday ahead of Gandhi's arrival in Aligarh, Senior Superintendent of Police Satyendra Vir Singh claimed orders under Section 144 are in place since June 12.

Asked whether Gandhi would be allowed to continue with his padyatra and informal meetings with the farmers, he said: "First let him come to Aligarh. We have already conveyed to him (Gandhi) that the permission is only for the Mahapanchayat and not for any other event."

Congress Aligarh president Girwar Sharma told reporters: "The prohibitory orders have been imposed today just to keep Rahul Gandhi away from farmers of Aligarh."

"The state government is scared of the widespread support being extended to Rahul Gandhi from different walks of life."

बेनी के साथ साथ कई बड़े नेता सोचते हैं कि राहुल गांधी के सिवा कांग्रेस में कोई ऎसा दूसरा नेता नहीं है जो लोगों के बीच जाकर सरकार पर विश्वास रखने की अपील करें और सरकार के पक्ष में अन्ना व बाबा जैसे आंदोलनों को नेतृत्व दे सकें। बेनी प्रसाद कहते हैं कि राहुल इस काम में पूरी तरह से सक्षम हैं और देश मे उनकी छवि अन्ना हजारे या बाबा रामदेव से कई गुना बड़ी है। बेनी प्रसाद ने बताया कि शुक्रवार को हुई कांग्रेस कार्यकारिणी की बैठक में बाबा और अन्ना के आंदोलनों से निपटने के लिए राहुल गांधी के नेतृत्व में इस तरह के अभियान चलाने पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई।

सोनिया ने किया रेल परियोजना का शिलान्यास जयपुर। यूपीए अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने शुक्रवार को डूंगरपुर-बांसवाड़ा-रतलाम रेल परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी। इस परियोजना का शिलान्यास से आम लोगों में खुशी की लहर है। शिलान्यास कार्यक्रम में गांधी के अलावा राजस्थान के मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत, प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष और केद्रीय मंत्री सी.पी.जोशी तथा विलासराव देशमुख भी उपस्थित थे।

2083 करोड़ से बनेगी 176 किमी. लाइन
सोनिया गांधी ने शुक्रवार को रेल परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी, उसकी लागत करीब 2083 करोड़ आएगी। राजस्थान की 1200 करोड़ हिस्सा राशि से बन रही परियोजना 176.47 किमी. लम्बी होगी और इसके पांच साल में पूरा होने की उम्मीद है।

मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत ने जनजाति अंचल के लिए परियोजना को वरदान बताते हुए इस साल के बजट में रेलवे को 1200 करोड़ रूपए राज्य के खजाने से देने की घोषणा की थी। परियोजना में मध्यप्रदेश के रतलाम जिले के साथ राजस्थान के बांसवाड़ा व डूंगरपुर जिले शामिल हैं और इसे उत्तर-पश्चिम रेलवे बनाएगा। राजस्थान में 126 किमी और मध्यप्रदेश में 50 किमी गुजरने वाली रेल लाइन में कुल 19 स्टेशन बनाए जाएंगे।

चेन्नई। लिट्टे के वरिष्ठ नेता कुमारन पद्मनाथन ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री राजीव गांधी की हत्या के लिए माफी मांगी है। एक चैनल को दिए साक्षात्कार में कुमारन ने राजीव की हत्या करने की प्रभाकरण की भूल के लिए भारत से माफी मांगी है। कुमारन ने कहा कि राजीव की हत्या सुनियोजित तरीके से की गई थी और वास्तव में इसके पीछे प्रभाकरन और लिट्टे के खुफिया प्रमुख पोट्टू अम्मान का हाथ था। हर कोई सच जानता है। उन दिनों कुमारन लिट्टे के कोषाध्यक्ष और प्रमुख शस्त्र प्रभारी थे।

It was a curious balancing game that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, played at the coalition's anniversary dinner on Sunday. It was carefully and clearly designed to keep the UPA flock together.

So even as the PM made politically correct noises about the need for probity in public life and talked about the preventive measures to be taken by his government, it was clear that he was leaving the issue of 2G and CWG scams to the courts. Just as it was left to Sonia Gandhi to tackle and woo the coalition partners, which she did throughout the evening.

Whether it was on the stage from where the UPA-II's second report card was released or the dinner that followed, Gandhi ensured that the only DMK leader at the show, T R Baalu, sat next to her and got all her attention. The possibility of the DMK members not turning up at the UPA bash had obviously had its effect on the Congress psyche. Baalu, interestingly, was the sole representative of the DMK. None of the DMK Ministers were to be found.

Despite his presence, Prime Minister Singh did very pointedly say that "the UPA government is determined to take corrective action" so that "such developments (2G and CWG)" do not take place "in future" and that he was considering steps to reduce "discretionary and arbitrary use of power in public officials".

But the subtle message to the southern ally was in the fine-print of the PM's speech: "The due processes of law are already in motion." That it was the courts and not his government which was handling the legal probe.

केरल के उम्मीदवारों का भी ऎलान संभव

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has resolved to train its guns on Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, as it believes he was the catalyst for the campaign against "Hindu terrorism". " We strongly believe there is nothing called Hindu terrorism.

It is something coined by some politicians to malign the RSS. The central investigating agencies started justifying this after Rahul Gandhi met US Ambassador Timothy Roemer in 2009 and later compared us with the Students Islamic Movement of India," Ram Madhav, executive council member and former spokesperson of the RSS said here on Wednesday.

"We know he is one of the catalysts behind the negative drive against the Sangh," Madhav added.

He said the Sangh will start a nationwide grih sampark abhiyan (door-to-door campaign) against the UPA to tell the people how the Congress leader was directing central investigating agencies to target the RSS for political gains.

Madhav said the campaign was on in some parts of the country from mid- January and that it will be held in UP from February 6 to 20.

"We will explain to the people how Sangh members were dragged into the Samjhauta case. We want a proper investigation, but the Congress is trying to raise the issue as a tool to gain political mileage," he said.

The RSS man claimed that no member of the Sangh was named in the charge sheets filed in the Mecca masjid and Ajmer dargah blast cases.

"But a so- called confessional statement of Asimanand was selectively leaked to the media. The statement of Rahul Gandhi came first and then the investigation was started in that direction. So while we are all set to fight a legal battle against those who are maligning us, we also want to turn a little aggressive against them and tell the people about the conspiracy," he said.

The chances of Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) merging with the Congress in Andhra Pradesh brightened considerably on Thursday after a meeting of the party's MLAs and district unit chiefs gave complete carte blanche to Chiranjeevi to decide whether they should merge with the Congress or merely form an alliance.

“Chiranjeevi will meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi before the end of the week. We have not put forth any pre-conditions for the talks,” PRP leader C Ramachandraiah said.

“On its own, the PRP cannot deliver social justice, the plank on which it was formed. So we will welcome whatever decision Chiranjeevi takes on ties with the Congress,” Ramachandraiah added.

The Congress in Andhra badly needs the PRP on its side. It has 155 members in the 294-member house but is worried about the threat posed by former party MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the son of late chief minister YS Rajashekara Reddy.

At least 25-30 Congress legislators have openly pledged allegiance to Jagan, who quit the Congress in November last year.

Facing the threat of a no-confidence motion in the upcoming assembly session, the Kiran Kumar Reddy government will be on a sticky wicket if the Jagan suppoorters choose to vote against it, or even abstain. To keep the government safe, it needs to rope in the PRP, which has 18 legislators.

The PRP, however, is divided on what kind of relationship the party should forge with the Congress.While a majority of the legislators reportedly favour an outright merger, with an eye on getting ministerial berths, another group wants to go slow, try out an alliance first and gradually take it to the next level.

Uttar Pradesh: A Muzaffarpur court has admitted a complaint against Congress president Sonia Gandhi charging her with outraging religious feelings of Hindus in her portrayal as Goddess Durga in a poster at the party's Muradabad office in Uttar Pradesh.

District Judge H K Srivastava admitted the complaint filed by an advocate Sudhir Ojha against Sonia, Uttar Pradesh and Muradabad district party presidents.(Congratulation to Advocate Sudhir Ojha for showing such alertness against defamation of Goddess Durga! - Editor)

The charges were made under three sections of IPC: Sections 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class), 295 (a) (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 120(b) (criminal conspiracy).

After admitting the petition on Wednesday, Srivastava transferred it to fast-track Judge V K Mandal for initiating legal proceedings.

Earlier on December 1, 2007, a magistrate had dismissed Ojha's petition that prompted the lawyer to move the court of the district judge on December 11, 2007.

Ojha, in his complaint, alleged the Muradabad district Congress president in league with UP Congress committee chief had put up the poster on the wall of the party's Muradabad office on June 21, 2007.

Sonia was in criminal conspiracy with them in the exercise, he charged.

The poster with Sonia as 'Durga' was beamed by television channels and its photographs appeared in several newspapers hurting the sentiments of the Hindus, he alleged.

The fast track court is likely to take up hearing of the case next month.

The Congress on Friday sacked its Moradabad district chief Ajay Saraswat Soni after posters depicting party chief Sonia Gandhi as Goddess Durga were found in the party office there.
Sonia condemned the appearance of the said posters and ordered the state Congress committee to inquire into the matter and identify the persons responsible for it.Sonia had asked the state unit of the party to take immediate action to expel from the party if the persons responsible for the act were Congressmen. "Following this, the District Congress Committee president Ajay Saraswat Soni has been relieved from his post with immediate effect," AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said in a statement in Delhi.

New Delhi: Congress workers regard their Chief Sonia Gandhi as Goddess, but in Moradabad, UP, they have embarrassed the party in their devotion.
Congress workers have put Sonia’s photograph on a poster of Goddess Durga displayed inside a party office in Moradabad. Like Durga, Sonia is shown with several arms and each which is supposed to be a department of the party organisation. Sonia is shown riding a lion, which is meant to represent political power.
A PTI report said A S Soni, the party’s district President, said the “work of art” was made by a painter who hung the "sample piece" in the office during the UP Assembly elections in which the party was routed. “There is no objection to it since it is a work of art," Soni told PTI.
Former Congress MP from Moradabad Hafiz Siddique rejected Soni’s statement and said the poster was unacceptable. "This picture is objectionable, as we cannot accept Sonia Gandhi in such a portrayal. In fact nobody can accept such things as Congress party is a secular organisation and we are condemning this," he said.
Asad Moulaei, the Congress’ chief in Moradabad, said the party had members from different religions, and condemned the portrayal of the leader as a Hindu Goddess. "No politician must be portrayed as God," said former Congress MP Pawan Ghatwar.
The poster is embarrassing for Congress leaders because they had criticised the BJP for a poster depicting Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as Goddess Annapurna.
The poster, which was designed by a BJP worker, shows former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Lord Vishnu, senior BJP leader L K Advani as Lord Brahma and BJP President Rajnath Singh as Lord Shiva.

जिस दल ने अपने ही साथी से ""कोई साथ हो तो अच्छा, ना हो तो बुरा, साथ हो तो इलाहाबाद की सडकों पर विधायक राजू पाल की बुजकशी करे, शिकार करे, साथ ना हो तो जेल में सड़े। साथ दो तो मिल-बाट कर सत्ता सुख भोग, छोड़ दे तो गेस्ट हाउस में कैद अपनी जान की सलामती की दुआ करे। चौदह साल वफा से कोई साथ रहे तो नंबर दो का दर्जा दे दें और कम्पूटर, अंग्रेजी, ट्रैक्टर के विरोध का विरोध करने पर दल्ला और सप्लायर हो जाए। किसी महिला को गर्भवती कर कत्ल करने वाला विधायक दलबदल कर आपको मुख्यमंत्री बना दे तो माबदौलत फरमाएं क्या हुआ जो छोटी- मोटी हरकत हो गई, हमारी बरकत कराने के बाद तो जनाब अपराधी नहीं, देश के महान सपूत हैं। कब तक मियाँ आपात स्थिति और लोकशाही के कत्ल का रोना रोओगे। अरे! अब तो इसे लगाने वाली पार्टी ने भी अमृतसर, बाबरी और आपात स्थित के लिए लोक कल्याण के लिए वैसे ही ईमानदराना माफी मांगी है जैसे बरखुरदार आपने अपने मोहब्बते कल्याण पर अफसोस जाहिर किया है। खिसकते जनाधार को बचाने के लिए सुर्खियों में वापस छाने के लिए कभी कोई पुराना वफादार कद्दावर साथी दल्ला, कभी मुल्क की अजीम महिला नेत्री की गाड़ी पर काले गैस के गुब्बारे और कभी खामोशी से विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में तकरीर पर जाने वाले राहुल पर जानलेवा हमला, यही है मर्यादाहीन राजनीति। लेकिन जिस दल के नेता अपने ही दल की प्रत्याशी की इज्जत को सरेआम बेइज्जत करते है, अपने पुराने वफादार की जिल्लत करते है, इनको क्या कहूं।

नई दिल्ली। बेतहाशा बढ़ती महंगाई को लेकर कठघरे में खड़ी सरकार में शामिल मंत्री और राजनीतिक दल महंगाई का ठीकरा एक-दूसरे के सिर फोडने में जुटे हैं। राहुल गांधी ने एक ओर महंगाई को काबू में करने के प्रयासों के विफल होने के लिए "साझा सरकार" की मजबूरी को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है। वहीं, दूसरी ओर राहुल के इस बयान से सहयोगी दल राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी (एनसीपी) भड़क उठी है।

एनसीपी के महासचिव और राज्यसभा सांसद तारिक अनवर ने बुधवार को दो टूक शब्दों में कहा कि खाद्य पदार्थो की बढ़ती कीमत के लिए किसी एक व्यक्ति को जिम्मेदार ठहराना सही नहीं है। उन्होंने कांग्रेस पर राजनीतिक वार करते हुए कहा कि केन्द्र में संप्रग सरकार का नेतृत्व करने वाली कांग्रेस को खासकर बिहार चुनाव के बाद वास्तविकता समझनी चाहिए। बिहार चुनाव में कांग्रेस अपने बल पर सिर्फ चार सीटें जीत पाई थी। माना जा रहा है कि अनवर का ईशारा देश के दूसरे राज्यों में कांग्रेस की खस्ता राजनीतिक हालत की ओर था।

पवार ने बढ़ाई महंगाई !
गौरतलब है कि मंगलवार को लखनऊ में छात्रों के साथ बातचीत के दौरान राहुल ने महंगाई के लिए साझा सरकार को जिम्मेदार ठहराया था। छात्रों ने राहुल से पूछा था कि जब स्वर्गीय इंदिरा गांधी अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान महंगाई रोकने में कामयाब रही थीं, तो मौजूदा संप्रग सरकार महंगाई पर लगाम क्यों नहीं लगा पा रही है। जवाब में राहुल ने कहा था कि "उस समय (इंदिरा गांधी के कार्यकाल के दौरान) एक पार्टी की सरकार हुआ करती थी। जबकि वर्तमान में कई पार्टियां मिलकर साझा सरकार बनाती हैं।" उन्होंने कहा था कि साझा सरकार की अपनी मजबूरियां होती हैं। राहुल के इस बयान के बाद राजनीतिक गलियारों में कयास लगाए जा रहे हैं कि राहुल ने अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से कृषि मंत्री और एनसीपी सुप्रीमो शरद पवार को महंगाई के लिए जिम्मेदार ठहराया है।

New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS) Congress General Secretary and youth icon Rahul Gandhi and Bollywood actress Esha Deol were voted as the most eligible bachelors by the people of Mumbai in a recent poll.

The poll, conducted by matrimonial website Shaadi.com, gave Rahul 34.69 percent votes, followed by Olympic bronze-medallist boxer Vijender Singh who got 18.36 percent votes.

Industrialist Ness Wadia bagged 16.32 percent votes, while actors Rahul Khanna got 12.24, Kunal Kapoor 10.23 and Rahul Bose 8.16 percent of the votes.

Among females, Esha Deol topped the list with 40.81 percent votes, followed by Sushmita Sen with 24.48 percent, Anushka Sharma with 12.24 percent, Sonam Kapoor and Mallika Sherawat with 8.16 percent votes each and badminton player Saina Nehwal with 6.15 percent votes.

भाजपा पर पलटवार
अधिवेशन में कांग्रेस ने भ्रष्टाचार पर कहा कि उसने ऎसे मामलों में जांच पड़ताल की रिपोर्ट की प्रतीक्षा किए बिना जरा सा भी शक होने पर अपने मुख्यमंत्रियों और वरिष्ठ मंत्रियों से इस्तीफे मांगने में जरा भी झिझक नहीं दिखाई, जबकि भाजपा और उसके नए सहयोगियों ने इसके ठीक उलट काम किया। महाधिवेशन में पारित राजनीतिक प्रस्ताव में कहा गया कि भाजपा ने स्वयं शासित राज्यों में भ्रष्टाचार का मुद्दा न उछालकर व कर्नाटक के सीएम और राष्ट्रीय संसाधनों को एकत्र करने के दोष्ाी अन्य लोगों का बचाव करके अपने नैतिक दिवालियापन का प्रदर्शन किया है।

मिले कड़ी सजा
कांग्रेस महासचिव राहुल गांधी ने भ्रष्टाचार पर हल्ला बोलते हुए कहा कि यह लोगों के आगे बढ़ने के मौके छीनता है। इसलिए ऎसा करने वालों को कड़ी सजा मिलनी चाहिए।

नई दिल्ली। देश में कुछ साल पहले हुए कई बम धमाकों के बाद निशाने पर आए पूर्व केन्द्रीय गृहमंत्री शिवराज पाटिल को कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी का संरक्षण मिला हुआ था। विकीलीक्स ने यह सनसनीखेज खुलासा किया है। विकीलीक्स के दस्तावेज के मुताबिक अमरीका को लगा था कि मुंबई हमलों के बाद शिवराज को हटाया जाना जरूरी हो गया था।

केबल संदेश के मुताबिक अमरीकी राजदूत डेविड मलफोर्ड ने कहा था कि "कांग्रेस कम से कम नुकसान चाहती थी क्योंकि मुंबई हमलों के बाद गहरे राजनीतिक संकट के दौर से गुजर रही थी। इसलिए उसने पाटिल को उनके पद से हटाना अति आवश्यक समझा। पार्टी के पास इसके अलावा कोई और चारा नहीं था।

मलफोर्ड ने कहा कि पाटिल पिछले चार साल में पूरी तरह अयोग्य साबित हुए थे। मलफोर्ड ने इस ओर संकेत किया कि जयपुर, बेंगलूरू, दिल्ली, अहमदाबाद, गुवाहाटी, समझौता एक्सप्रेस, उत्तर प्रदेश, उड़ीसा, जम्मू-कश्मीर में हुए आतंकी हमले और सांप्रदायिक हिंसा में पूरी तरह लापरवाह रहे।

उन्होंने कहा कि हर बार हमले होने पर उनके इस्तीफे की मांग उठी लेकिन सोनिया गांधी बार-बार उन्हें बचातीं रहीं। पर मुंबई हमलों के बाद सोनिया भी कुछ नहीं कर सकीं और जनता की नाराजगी को देखते हुए आखिरकार पाटिल को उनकी कुर्सी से हटाना ही पड़ा।

लखनऊ में एक कार्यक्रम में भाजपा की पूर्व नेता उमा भारती ने कहा कि राहुल यह सारा पाठ दिग्विजय सिंह से पढ़ रहे है, जो खुद भी मुसलमानों को सर्पोट लेने के लिए आरएसएस विरोधी बयान देते रहते है। उन्होंने कहा कि मैं राहुल को कहूंगी कि थोड़ा पढ़ा करो। दिग्विजय सिंह जो नोट्स बनाकर देते हुए उन्हें राहुल पढ़ देते है तो ऎसा होगा ही। उमा ने कहा कि राहुल को मेरे से क्लास लेनी चाहिए। राहुल ने दिग्विजय सिंह को अपना गुरू बना लिया है लेकिन इन दोनों पर यह कहावत शत प्रतिशत चरितार्थ होती है लोभी गुरू लालची चेला- दोनों नरक में ठेलमठेला। उन्होंने कहा कि गांधी एक बड़े राजनीतिक घराने से हैं इसलिए उन्हें दिग्विजय सिंह जैसे राजनीतिज्ञों से बचना चाहिए।

दिग्विजय सिंह पर प्रहार करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि दिग्विजय सिंह को इस तरह के गैर जिम्मेदाराना बयान देने का शौक है। राहुल मुझसे सीखें और आरएसएस का इतिहास पढ़ें। कश्मीर में जवाहर लाल नेहरू ने भी आरएसएस की मदद मांगी थी। यहां तक कि गणतंत्र दिवस के मौके पर परेड में भी आरएसएस को शामिल किया गया है। राहुल को यह सब पढ़ना चाहिए।

भविष्य अभी तय नहीं

आगामी विधानसभा चुनाव में खुद को भाजपा की ओर से उत्तरप्रदेश में मुख्यमंत्री पद का दावेदार बताए जाने की बात पर उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें नहीं बता कि यह बात कहां से आई है। उन्हें अभी तय करना है कि उनका भविष्य क्या होगा। भाजपा नेता लालकृष्ण आडवाणी के बयान पर उन्होंने कहा कि आडवाणी जी ने जो कुछ कहा वह भी सही है और जो कुछ मैं कह रही हूं यह भी सही है।

मुम्बई। विकीलीक्स के खुलासे के बाद विपक्ष के निशाने पर आए कांग्रेस महासचिव राहुल गांधी ने खुद अपने बयान पर सफाई दी है। राहुल गांधी ने कहा है कि हर तरह के आतंकवाद से देश को खतरा है। आतंकवाद, साम्प्रदायिकता दोनों से बराबर का खतरा है और इससे सतर्क रहने की जरूरत है।

हालांकि सफाई देने के लिए राहुल खुद सामने नहीं आए बल्कि एक प्रेस रिलीज जारी कर अपनी बात रखी। राहुल की ओर से जारी पे्रस रिलीज को कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता मनीष तिवारी ने पढ़ कर सुनाया। इस रिलीज मे राहुल गांधी ने कहा है आतंकवाद और साम्प्रदायिकता देश के लिए बराबर का खतरा है। भले ही इसे कोई भी अंजाम दे। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी तरह का आतंकवाद देश के लिए अच्छा नहीं है। इस बात से कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता कि उस आतंकवाद के पीछे कौन है। आतंक का हर रूप खतरनाक है और देश को इसके प्रति सर्तक रहने की जरूरत है।

कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता ने कहा कि विपक्ष उन लोगों पर अंगुलियां उठा रहा है जिनके परिवार ने देश की एकता के लिए अपनी जान दे दी। आतंकवाद पर कांग्रेस की राय जगजाहिर है । उन्होंने कहा कि सवाल उठाने वाले अपने गिरेहबान में झांककर देखें।

नई दिल्ली। अमरीका के गोपनीय दस्तावेज का खुलासा कर पूरी दुनिया में हड़कंप मचाने वाली खोजी वेबसाइट विकीलीक्स ने कांग्रेस महासचिव राहुल गांधी से जुड़ा एक सनसनीखेज खुलासा किया है। विकीलीक्स के मुताबिक राहुल गांधी ने हिन्दू कट्टरपंथियों को इस्लामिक अलगाववादियों से भी बड़ा खतरा बताया था। राहुल पर किए गए इस खुलासे से देश के राजनीतिक गलियारों में खलबली मच गई।

विकीलीक्स के मुताबिक राहुल गांधी ने पिछले साल अमरीकी राजदूत टिमोथी रोमर से आतंकवाद पर चर्चा के दौरान कहा था कि हिन्दू चरमपंथी आने वाले समय मे देश के लिए एक बड़ा खतरा है।

अमरीकी राजदूत से आतंक के मसले पर चर्चा करते हुए राहुल ने कहा कि भारत में भले ही कुछ तत्व लश्कर जैसे इस्लामिक आतंकवादी संगठनों का समर्थन कर रहे हैं परन्तु इससे बड़ा खतरा चरमपंथी हिन्दू संगठनों से है जो दोनों समुदायों मे धार्मिक तनाव पैदा कर रहे हैं।

मोदी के कारण तनाव की बात कही

प्रधानमंत्री आवास पर लंच के दौरान हुई इस मुलाकात में राहुल ने रोमर से कहा कि इस तरह के स्थिति में दोनों समुदायों में टकराव की स्थिति पैदा हो सकती है। लेकिन शायद उभरते कट्टरपंथ हिन्दू संगठनों से देश को ज्यादा खतरा है। राहुल ने नरेन्द्र मोदी के कारण पैदा हुई तनाव की बात कही थी।

राहुल ने कहा था कि कुछ राजनीतिक तत्व दोनों समुदायों में तनाव फैलाने की कोशिश करते है लेकिन देश में तेजी से फैल रहा हिन्दू कट्टरपंथ ज्यादा खतरनाक है। देश के भीतर पनप रहे चरमपंथ पर चिंता बढ़ रही है और इस पर ध्यान देने की जरूरत है।

भाजपा ने कहा राहुल की सोच दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण

भाजपा ने राहुल के बयान पर कड़ी आपत्ति जताई है। भाजपा नेता रविशंकर ने राहुल पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि इस बयान से पता चलता है कि भारत के बारे में राहुल की सोच कैसी है। राहुल ने लश्कर ए तैयबा और पाकिस्तान के बाकी आतंकी संगठनों के दुष्प्रचार को सही ठहरा दिया है।

भाजपा ने कहा कि राहुल आतंकवाद को आस्था के आधार पर बांटने की कोशिश कर रहे है। यह उनकी सोच का संकेत है जिसको अमरीका की ओर से नकारा नहीं गया है। पार्टी इस बयान की कड़ी भर्त्सना करती है।

भाजपा नेता विनय कटियार ने कहा कि राहुल ने कभी भारत को इतिहास नहीं पढा इसलिए ऎसी बातें कह रहे है।

इससे पहले, भाजपा प्रवक्ता तरूण विजय ने राहुल को पाकिस्तान और लश्कर प्रवक्ता करार देते हुए कहा कि राहुल की सोच दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। उन्होंने कहा कि मुसलमानों के वोट पाने के लिए यह बयान दिए गए हैं। इस बयान से आतंकी संगठनों को बढ़ावा मिलेगा। यह बात मुसलमानों को अपमान करने जैसी बात है। राहुल और दिग्विजय दोनों एक जैसी ही भाषा बोल रहे हैं। देश भक्ति को कटघरे में खड़ा करके राहुल गांधी वोट बैंक तैयार करने में जुटे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे भारत की एकता को खतरा पैदा हो गया है।

उल्लेखनीय है कि इससे पहले राहुल गांधी ने राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ की तुलना सिमी से कर दी थी। जिस पर देश भर में खासा बवाल मचा था। संघ नेताओं ने कड़ी आपत्ति दर्ज कराई थी।

नई दिल्ली। कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने भी सोमवार को 2-जी स्पेक्ट्रम घोटाले की संयुक्त संसदीय समिति (जेपीसी) से जांच कराने की मांग को सिरे से खारिज कर दिया है। विपक्ष पर भड़कते हुए सोनिया ने कहा कि देश की जनता संसद के पूरे सत्र को हंगामे की भेंट चढ़ाए जाने को कभी नहीं भूलेगी और न ही विपक्ष को इसके लिए माफ करेगी।

कांग्रेस संसदीय पार्टी (सीपीपी) की बैठक में सोनिया ने भ्रष्टाचार और जमीन घोटाले में कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री बी एस येदियुरप्पा नाम होने के बावजूद उनके सीएम बने रहने के मुद्दे पर भाजपा पर निशाना साधा। बैठक में मौजूद सांसदों ने यह जानकारी दी है।

जेपीसी की क्या जरूरत है ?

विपक्ष की जेपीसी की मांग को ठुकराते हुए सोनिया ने कहा कि जेपीसी की जरूरत ही कहां है जब पीएसी और सीबीआई मामले की पहले से ही जांच कर रही है। साथ ही सुप्रीम कोर्ट भी मामले की निगरानी कर रहा है और कोर्ट के पूर्व जज इस मुद्दे की जांच कर रहे हैं।

हैदराबाद। आंध्र प्रदेश के नए मुख्यमंत्री एन. किरण कुमार रेड्डी राज्य के पूर्व दिवंगत सीएम वाईएसआर रेड्डी के सपनों को पूरा करना चाहते हैं। उनकी ख्वाहिश थी कि अगले लोकसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस के युवराज राहुल गांधी प्रधानमंत्री की कुर्सी पर बैठें और इसके साथ ही कांग्रेस राज्य में 41 लोकसभा सीटों पर जीत दर्ज करे।

गुरूवार को मुख्यमंत्री पद की शपथ लेने के बाद किरण ने जनता से कहा कि "मैं वर्ष 2014 में होने वाले लोकसभा चुनावों तक पार्टी को मजबूत करने पर ध्यान केन्द्रित करूंगा और सरकार की एक नई छवि पेश करूंगा।"

किरण ने कहा कि "मुझे विश्वास है कि पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री वाईएसआर रेड्डी द्वारा लाई गई हर योजना को क्रियान्वित किया जाएगा। मैं उनके अधूरे सपनों को भी पूरा करने की कोशिश करूंगा। उनकी चाहत थी कि वर्ष 2014 के लोकसभा चुनाव में कांग्रेस राज्य में 41 सीटें जीते और राहुल गांधी देश के पीएम बनें।"

रेड्डी ने बताया कि वाईएसआर ने मौत से तीन दिन पहले ही अपनी इस इच्छा के बारे में बताया था। गौरतलब है कि के. रोसैया के इस्तीफे के बाद कांग्रेस विधायक दल की बुधवार को हुई बैठक में रेड्डी को सीएम चुना गया था।

नई दिल्ली। भ्रष्टाचार और घोटालों को लेकर केन्द्र सरकार चौतरफा आलोचना झेल रही है तो दूसरी ओर कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने एक बयान देकर मामले की गंभीरता को और बढ़ा दिया है। देश भर में फैले भ्रष्टाचार पर सोनिया ने कहा कि मौजूदा समय में देश में भ्रष्टाचार उफान पर है। लालच और घूस देना चरम पर पहुंच गया है।

सोनिया ने कहा कि देश में आर्थिक तरक्की तो हुई है लेकिन नैतिक मूल्यों में भारी गिरावट आ गई है। वहीं जनता से किए गए वादे कभी पूरे नहीं होते। वादा करने और उन्हें निभाने में बहुत अंतर होता है। इसलिए सरकार को ज्यादा प्रभावी और कारगर होने की आवश्यकता है। इस समय प्रभावी और कुशल सरकार की जरूरत है।

उन्होंने कहा कि भले ही देश में करोड़पतियों की संख्या दिनोंदिन बढ़ रही हो पर आज भी करोड़ों लोग रोटी के लिए तरस रहे हैं। जिन मूल्यों पर स्वतंत्र भारत का निर्माण हुआ वो खतरे में आ गए हैं।

उल्लेखनीय है कि 2-जी स्पेक्ट्रम घोटाला, आदर्श हाउसिंग सोसायटी घोटाला, कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में घोटाले को लेकर पिछले कई दिनों से सरकार विपक्ष के निशाने पर है। 2-जी को लेकर पीएम की चुप्पी पर भी काफी सवाल उठ रहे हैं। यहां तक कि सर्वोच्च अदालत ने भी पीएम की चुप्पी पर जवाब मांगा है। ऎसे में सोनिया गांधी का भ्रष्टाचार के मुद्दे पर दिया गया बयान काफी मायने रखता है।

भोपाल. राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के पूर्व प्रमुख केएस सुदर्शन ने कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी पर इंदिरा गांधी और राजीव गांधी की हत्या का षड्यंत्र रचने का आरोप लगाया।

सुदर्शन यहीं नहीं रुके और उन्होंने सोनिया को सीआईए (अमेरिकी खुफिया एजेंसी) की एजेंट और 'अवैध संतान' भी कह दिया।

सुदर्शन ने बुधवार को भोपाल में संघ के धरना स्थल पर मीडिया से चर्चा में ये आरोप लगाए। उन्होंने दावा किया कि सोनिया के जन्म के समय उनके पिता जेल में थे। इस बात को छिपाने के लिए ही वे अपनी जन्मतिथि 1944 के बजाय 1946 बताती हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि एक कांग्रेस नेता ने उन्हें यह सारी जानकारी दी। सुदर्शन ने उस नेता का नाम उजागर करने से इनकार कर दिया।

संघ को फंसाने में लगा है केंद्र : उधर दिल्ली में भाजपा नेता लालकृष्ण आडवाणी ने आरोप लगाया कि केंद्र सरकार आतंकी हमलों के मामलों में संघ को फंसाने में लगी है। वह इसके लिए सीबीआई का दुरुपयोग कर रही है।

आडवाणी ने भाजपा संसदीय दल की बैठक में ये विचार जताए। उन्होंने कहा कि केंद्र की यूपीए सरकार भ्रष्टाचार में आकंठ डूबी हुई है। वह लोगों का ध्यान बंटाने के लिए संघ को आतंकी मामलों में फंसाने की कोशिश कर रही है।

सोनिया गांधी को अवैध संतान नहीं कहा-मिश्र

सोनिया गांधी पर चर्चित पुस्तक 'सोनिया अंडर स्क्रूटिनी' लिखने वाले पूर्व भाजपा सांसद दीनानाथ मिश्रा ने दैनिक भास्कर से कहा कि किताब में ऐसा कोई जिक्र नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि हिंदी में यह पुस्तक 'सोनिया गांधी का सच' के नाम से प्रकाशित हुई। सुदर्शन की टिप्पणी पर कोई प्रतिक्रिया न जताते हुए मिश्र ने कहा कि उनकी किताब में सोनिया के क्वात्रोच्चि के साथ रिश्तों और कुछ अन्य संदर्भो का उल्लेख है।

गौरतलब है कि भाजपा के एक वरिष्ठ पदाधिकारी ने बुधवार को ही सुदर्शन के आरोपों के संबंध में कहा कि यह आरोप पहली बार नहीं लगे हैं। दीनानाथ मिश्रा की पुस्तक में इसका विस्तार से उल्लेख है। पिछले लोकसभा चुनाव के पहले लखनऊ में मेनका गांधी ने इस किताब को लेकर प्रेस कांफ्रेंस की थी।

मम्मी से कह कर प्रतिबंध लगवा दें: झा

आरएसएस के धरने में भाजपा और संघ नेताओं ने केंद्र सरकार पर तीखे हमले किए। प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष प्रभात झा ने तो यहां तक कहा कि राहुल गांधी चाहें तो 'अपनी मम्मी सोनिया गांधी से कह कर संघ पर प्रतिबंध लगवा दें।'

बुधवार को लिली टॉकीज चौराहे पर आयोजित धरने को संबोधित करते पूर्व सांसद आरिफ बेग ने कहा कि जिन इंद्रेशकुमार पर आतंकवाद में लिप्त होने का आरोप लगाया गया है वे बिना किसी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के कश्मीर घाटी में मुसलमानों के घर में रहते हैं और उन्हें देश की मुख्य धारा से जोड़ने का काम कर रहे हैं।

आरोप कई, सबूत किसी का नहीं

पूर्व संघ प्रमुख सुदर्शन से पूछा गया कि ये खुलासे उन्होंने पहले क्यों नहीं किए तो वे चुप्पी साध गए। उन्होंने उस कांग्रेसी नेता का नाम भी नहीं बताया जिसने उन्हें सोनिया के सीआईए एजेंट होने की जानकारी दी थी। एक भाजपा नेता ने यह कहकर सुदर्शन का बचाव किया कि ये बातें 'सोनिया गांधी का सच' नामक किताब में लिखी हैं, उस किताब के लेखक पूर्व भाजपा सांसद से भास्कर ने बात की, तो उन्होंने साफ कहा कि मेरी किताब में ऐसा कुछ नहीं लिखा है।

इंदिरा को भनक लग गई थी

सुदर्शन ने दावा किया कि राजीव ने ईसाई धर्म ग्रहण कर राबटरे नाम से सोनिया से शादी की। बाद में इंदिरा ने वैदिक पद्धति से शादी कराई। इंदिरा को इस बात की भनक लग गई थी कि सोनिया सीआईए एजेंट है, लेकिन इंदिरा उसका अपने हिसाब से उपयोग करना चाहती थी।

सोनिया चाहती तो बच जातीं इंदिरा

इंदिरा की सुरक्षा से सतवंत सिंह (गोली मारने वाला सुरक्षा कर्मी) को हटाने की बात हुई थी, लेकिन सोनिया ने यह नहीं होने दिया। जब इंदिरा को गोली लगी तो उन्हें राम मनोहर लोहिया अस्पताल ले जाने की बजाय वे एम्स ले गई, जो काफी दूर था। तब तक उनका काफी खून बह चुका था। एम्स के डॉक्टरों ने कहा- ब्राट डेड (यानी अस्पताल लाए जाने पर उनकी मृत्यु हो चुकी थी)।

राजीव गांधी को भी शक हो गया था

सुदर्शन ने दावा किया कि राजीव को भी सोनिया पर शक हो गया था। वे उनसे अलग होने का मन बना रहे थे। सुदर्शन ने सोनिया पर राजीव की हत्या के षड्यंत्र का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि सोनिया के इशारे पर श्रीपेरुंबुदूर की सभा में जेड प्लस सुरक्षा नहीं की गई। सुदर्शन ने सवाल किया कि इस बात की जांच क्यों नहीं होती कि राजीव को जेड प्लस सुरक्षा क्यों नहीं उपलब्ध कराई गई?

सुदर्शन का आरोप उनकी ओछी मानसिकता दर्शाता है। सोनिया गांधी उस परिवार की बहू हैं जिसने देश की आजादी में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका अदा की है।

पहले भी चल चुके हैं सुदर्शन के विवादित तीर..

'अयोध्या में विवादित ढांचे को बम से ध्वस्त किया गया था।' (दिसंबर, 2000) 'हिंदुओं को कम से कम तीन बच्चे पैदा करने चाहिए ताकि हिंदू धर्म,संस्कृति और समाज की रक्षा हो सके।' (नवंबर, 2005) 'जिन्ना के कई चेहरे थे। यदि आप इतिहास ठीक से पढ़ेंगे तो पाएंगे कि वे तिलक की तरह संयुक्त भारत के लिए प्रतिबद्ध थे।' (अगस्त, 2009)

'नेहरू और माउंटबेटन कश्मीर समस्या के लिए जिम्मेदार थे। नेहरू एडविना के प्रभाव में काम करते थे। इंदिरा तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री शास्त्री की मौत के लिए जिम्मेदार थीं।' (अक्टूबर 2010)

ये आहत मन की पीड़ा

सोनिया गांधी पर सुदर्शन की टिप्पणी को प्रदेश अध्यक्ष प्रभात झा ने 'आहत मन की पीड़ा' बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि संघ के खिलाफ दुष्प्रचार से सुदर्शन गहरी तकलीफ में हैं।

झा ने कहा कि पूर्व संघ प्रमुख की टिप्पणी पर वे कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं जताएंगे। जब उनका जन्म भी नहीं हुआ था,सुदर्शन तब से संघ के लिए कार्य कर रहे हैं। झा ने कहा कि संघ के देशव्यापी धरने की सफलता से कांग्रेस उसकी ताकत का अंदाजा लगा सकती है। संघ हमारी मातृसंस्था है।

85 साल बाद सड़कों पर उतरा संघ

..क्योंकि आतंकी होने का ठप्पा लग रहा था।
1925 में स्थापना के बाद संघ पहली बार सड़कों पर विरोध करने उतरा और धरना दिया।
अजमेर समेत देश के कुछ हिस्सों में हुए विस्फोटों में स्वयंसेवकों का नाम शामिल किए जाने के खिलाफ संघ ने बुधवार को देशभर में धरने-प्रदर्शन आयोजित किए। लखनऊ में संघ प्रमुख मोहन भागवत ने कहा कि जब-जब दिल्ली में सत्ता डोलती है तब-तब संघ को निशाना बनाने का षड्यंत्र रचा जाता है।

जयपुर/नई दिल्ली। । राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के पूर्व प्रमुख केएस सुदर्शन की कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी पर की गई टिप्पणी के मामले में दर्ज मुकदमे की जांच माणकचौक थानाधिकारी करेंगे। इस मामले में पुलिस परिवादी के बयान भी दर्ज करेगी। पुलिस पूर्व संघ प्रमुख से पूछताछ कर सकती है। हालांकि पूछताछ कब और कहां होगी यह अभी तक साफ नहीं हो सका है। साथ ही परिवादी से मुकदमे से संबंधित दस्तावेज भी मांगा जाएगा। अदालत के आदेश पर माणक चौक थाना पुलिस ने सुदर्शन के खिलाफ भारतीय दण्ड संहिता की धारा 153 (बी), 505, 500 के तहत मामला दर्ज किया था।

एएसपी अनिल गोठवाल के मुताबिक, बयानबाजी को लेकर दर्ज मामले की जांच माणकचौक थानाधिकारी विधाधर डूडी को सौंपी गई है। गोठवाल का कहना है कि मामले में परिवादी के बयान भी दर्ज किए जाएंगे। इसके अलावा परिवादी से बयानबाजी के सबूत के संबंध में दस्तावेज भी मांगा जाएगा।

गौरतलब है कि राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के पूर्व प्रमुख केएस सुदर्शन की ओर से कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी पर की गई टिप्पणी को लेकर देशभर में जबर्दस्त बवाल मचा हुआ है। कांग्रेस और इससे संबंधित संगठन सुदर्शन के खिलाफ देशभर मे आंदोलन छेड़े हुए र्है।

संघ को खेद

राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक ने पूर्व संघ प्रमुख के.एस.सुदर्शन की कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी के संबंध में की गई आपत्तिजनक टिप्पणियों के लिए शुक्रवार को सार्वजनिक रूप से खेद व्यक्त किया। उधर, कांग्रेस की ओर से जयपुर व भोपाल में सुदर्शन के विरूद्ध मामला दर्ज कराया गया है। जयपुर में सुरेश मिश्रा व भोपाल में प्रदीप शर्मा ने मामला दर्ज कराया। भोपाल में मामले पर दो दिसम्बर को सुनवाई होगी।

संघ के सरकार्यवाह सुरेश जोशी ने यहां जारी बयान में कहा कि सुदर्शन की कथित टिप्पणियों को संघ का मत नहीं माना जाना चाहिए। भावनाओं को आहत करने वाली टिप्पणियों से जुड़ा घटनाक्रम दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है, जिसके लिए वह संघ के महासचिव के रूप में हार्दिक रूप से खेद व्यक्त करते हैं। उन्होंने देशवासियों से आग्रह किया कि टिप्पणियों से उपजे विवाद के संबंध में शांति और संयम कायम रखें। इस बीच, भाजपा ने कहा कि संघ के खेद जताने और खुद को बयान से अलग करने के बाद भी कांग्रेस मामले को बेवजह तूल दे रही है। भाजपा ने संघ के खेद जताने के बयान से सहमति जताई।

संघ करेगा जांच
पूर्व सरसंघ चालक के.एस. सुदर्शन की सोनिया गांधी पर टिप्पणी से "बैकफुट" पर आए राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ को आशंका है कि सुदर्शन ने जो कहा उसमें जुबान भले उनकी थी, लेकिन दिमाग किसी और का था। इस छिपे चेहरे को सामने लाने का जिम्मा संघ के सह सर कार्यवाह सुरेश सोनी को सौंपा गया है।

सुदर्शन को ऎसे बयान की सलाह देने वाले के रूप में शक की सुई ऎसे चेहरे पर अटकी है, जिसकी भाजपा नेता विजयाराजे सिंधिया के समय संघ में अच्छी दखल थी। वे अपने काम में जुट भी गए हैं। दरअसल संघ की चिंता का कारण है। इस झमेले से उसकी बनी बनाई रणनीति पर असर पड़ा है क्योंकि आतंकवाद के मुद्दे पर संघ-भाजपा की जुगलबंदी से केन्द्र सरकार दबाव में आ गई थी, लेकिन सुदर्शन की टिप्पणी से सारे किए कराए पर पानी फिर गया।

भोपाल। पूर्व संघ प्रमुख केएस सुदर्शन की सोनिया गांधी के खिलाफ अशोभनीय टिप्पणी के विरोध में शुक्रवार को कांग्र्रेस सड़कों पर उतर आई। प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सुरेश पचौरी के आह्वान पर हजारों की संख्या में कांग्र्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं ने प्रदेश भर में सुदर्शन के पुतले जलाए और आरएसएस के कार्यालयों पर प्रदर्शन किए।

भोपाल में महिला कांग्रेस ने रैली निकालकर बोर्ड आफिस चौराहे पर सुदर्शन का पुतला फूंका और युवक कांग्रेस ने संघ कार्यालय के सामने प्रदर्शन कर नारेबाजी की। महिला कांग्रेस ने राज्यपाल रामेश्वर ठाकुर को राष्ट्रपति के नाम ज्ञापन सौंपकर सुदर्शन की गिरफ्तारी की मांग भी की।

माफी मांगें सुदर्शन
महिला कांग्रेस की प्रदेशाध्यक्ष अर्चना जायसवाल के नेतृत्व में शहर की महिला कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता सुबह प्रदेश कांग्रेस कार्यालय के सामने एकत्र हुईं और रैली के रूप में वहां से

दोपहर बारह बजे बोर्ड आफिस चौराहा पहुंचीं। यहां रैली सभा में तब्दील हो गई। सभा को संबोधित करते हुए अर्चना जायसवाल ने कहा कि सुदर्शन के बयान से भाजपा की चाल चरित्र और चेहरा उजागर हो गया है। उन्होंने सुदर्शन की माफी की
मांग की और कहा कि ऎसा नहीं हुआ तो महिला कांग्रेस उग्र्र आंदोलन करेगी। महिला शहर कांग्रेस की जिलाध्यक्ष शशि राजपूत ने कहा कि सुदर्शन की टिप्पणी से संपूर्ण नारी जाति का अपमान हुआ है। पूर्व महापौर दीपचंद यादव, पूर्व विधायक पीसी शर्मा, जिला कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता पंकज चतुर्वेदी ने भी संबोधन दिया। प्रदर्शनकारियों में महिला कांग्रेस की ग्रामीण अध्यक्ष प्रतिभा तोमर, कुसुम पाल, शीला दुबे, राखी शर्मा, संगीता जोशी प्रतिभा विक्टर, संजीदा, विद्या भारंगे, सीमा पवार, लता देवरे, लक्ष्मी सैनी आदि शामिल थीं। इनके अलावा प्रदेश कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता जेपी धनोपिया, कांग्रेस नेता बाबू सालोमन, पूर्व युवा कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष नीतेश नेमा और मध्यप्रदेश कांग्रेस सेवादल के मुख्य संगठक योगेश यादव ने भी
सुदर्शन व भाजपा की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा की।

मशाल जुलूस निकाला
मप्र सचिव संगीता शर्मा के नेतृत्व में बुधवारा चार बत्ती चौराहे पर मशाल जुलूस निकालकर प्रदर्शन किया गया। इसमें युवा कांग्र्रेस के कार्यकर्ता सैय्यद मोज्जम, सैय्यद फेजान, शहरयार आलम, अतीक व सैय्यद शाहिद हुसैन मौजूद थे। वहीं लालघाटी चौराहे पर युवक कांग्रेस के मनोज शुक्ला, नादिर खान आदि ने सुदर्शन का पुतला
दहन किया।

युवक कांग्रेस ने किया सद्बुद्धि यज्ञ
युवा कांग्रेस नेता सूरज तिवारी के नेतृत्व में शुक्रवार शाम पांच बजे बोर्ड ऑफिस चौराहे पर सद्बुद्धि यज्ञ किया गया। यह यज्ञ आरएसएस प्रमुख सुदर्शन को सद्बुद्धि देने के लिए किया गया था। यज्ञ में उभय कुशल तिवारी, प्रकाश चौकसे, संजय वर्मा विवेक त्रिपाठी सहित दर्जनों युवक कांग्रेस एवं एनएसयूआई के कार्यकर्ता मौजूद थे।

उधर नेहरूनगर चौराहे पर दोपहर 11 बजे मध्यप्रदेश कांग्रेस कमेटी जन समस्या निवारण प्रकोष्ठ के प्रदेश सचिव सुनील यादव, संतोष जितेन्द्र कसाना व सदस्यों
ने सुदर्शन का पुतला दहन किया।

इंदौर। जेड प्लस सुरक्षा प्राप्त पूर्व सरसंघचालक सुदर्शन को शुक्रवार को इंदौर में युवक कांग्रेस के कार्यकर्ताओं ने काले झंडे दिखाए। प्रदर्शनकारियों को बाद में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। सोनिया गांधी पर सुदर्शन की टिप्पणी से नाराज कार्यकर्ता सुबह से ही प्रदर्शन की टोह में थे। छोटा बांगड़दा स्थित केशव विद्यापीठ के नजदीक हुए इस घटनाक्रम के तत्काल बाद मौके पर पहुंचे संघ कार्यकर्ताओं ने प्रदर्शनकारी युवकों को दौड़ा-दौड़ा कर मारा। पुलिस ने भी इन्हें नहीं छोड़ा। संघ कार्यकर्ता भी मुस्तैद नजर आए और सुबह की शाखाओं में भी काफी भीड़ रही।

दोपहर करीब दो बजे युकां कार्यकर्ता प्रदेश अध्यक्ष जीतू पटवारी की अगुआई में बड़ा गणपति चौराहे से ही सुदर्शन के काफिले के आगे-पीछे हो लिए थे। करीब आधा दर्जन कार्यकर्ता दो वाहनों में एरोड्रम मेनरोड से केशव विद्यापीठ जाने वाले रास्ते पर खड़े हो गए। जैसे ही काफिला गुजरा, इन्होंने काले झंडे लहराए और नारेबाजी की।

मारा और कार भी फोड़ दी
घटनास्थल से कुछ ही दूर केशव विद्यापीठ के नजदीक तैनात संघ के कार्यकर्ता यह देख पहुंचे और भागरहे दो युवकों को जमकर धुना। प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के मुताबिक लाठियों से लैस 8-10 युवकों ने दोनों को दौड़ा-दौड़ा कर मारा। इन्होंन ने यादव की इंडिका मंजा कार भी फोड़ दी। पुलिस ने आधा दर्जन प्रदर्शनकरियों को मौके से गिरफ्तार किया।

पिटे एरोड्रम क्षेत्र में और रिपोर्ट लिखाने परदेशीपुरा पहुंचे
संघियों की पिटाई से दहशत में आए युवा कांग्रेसी करीब एक घंटे बाद परदेशीपुरा थाने पहुंचे और मारपीट व वाहन में तोड़फोड़ की प्रथम सूचना रिपोर्ट दर्ज करने की मांग करने लगे।

यहां पुलिस ने करीब 25 लोगों को गिरफ्तार कर थाने में धकेला और चैनल गेट लगा दिया। गिरफ्तार लोगों में यादव के साथ ही पार्षद दिलीप सुरागे प्रमुख थे। बाद में प्रदेश युवक कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष जीतू पटवारी, विधायक तुलसी सिलावट तथा पार्टी के अन्य नेता वहां पहुंचे और गिरफ्तार कार्यकर्ताओं को रिहा करने के साथ ही मारपीट करने वालों के खिलाफ प्रकरण दर्ज करने की मांग की। इन लोगों की पुलिस अफसरों से जमकर बहस भी हुई। बाद में आला अफसरों के हस्तक्षेप के चलते गिरफ्तार कार्यकर्ताओं को शाम को रिहा कर दिया गया।

कई जगह कड़ा पहरा
गुरूवार शाम शहर में हुए विरोध प्रदर्शन व पथराव की कई घटनाओं के मद्देनजर पुलिस शुक्रवार को सुबह से ही बहुत सतर्क थी। रामबाग स्थित संघ कार्यालय अर्चना और यशवंत रोड स्थित कांग्रेस मुख्यालय गांधी भवन के बाहर कड़े सुरक्षा प्रबंध किए गए थे। कांग्रेस व भाजपा के चुनिंदा नेताओं के यहां भी पुलिस तैनात की गई थी। गांधी भवन के बाहर सुबह पुलिस ने राजीव विकास केंद्र के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष देवेंद्र यादव को सुदर्शन का पुतला जलाने के पहले ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया। इसके पहले पुलिस ने दो पुतले छीन कार्यकर्ताओं को गांधी भवन के भीतर ही कैद कर दिया था। यादव को दिनभर पंढरीनाथ थाने पर रखने के बाद शाम को रिहा कर दिया गया।

कांग्रेसी बोले कार्रवाई करो
इधर सुदर्शन की टिप्पणी और गुरूवार को कांग्रेस नेताओं के निवास तथा व्यावसायिक प्रतिष्ठानों पर हमले की घटना के विरोध में जिला कांग्रेस ने अपर कलेक्टर को ज्ञापन दिया। शाम को शहर अध्यक्ष प्रमोद टंडन की अगुआई में कांग्रेस एसएसपी डी श्रीनिवास राव से मिलने पहुंचे और दोषी लोगों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग की। इन लोगों का कहना था कि सुदर्शन के खिलाफ मानहानि का मुकदमा दर्ज किया जाना चाहिए।

कई कांग्रेसी हैं निशाने पर

गुरूवार को कांग्रेसियों द्वारा गांधी भवन के बाद सुदर्शन का पुतला जलाए जाने के बाद संघ ने कांग्रेस के कई नेताओं को निशाने पर ले लिया है। इनमें युवक कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष पिंटू जोशी तथा देवेंद्र यादव के साथ ही संघ के खिलाफ मुखर रहने वाले केके मिश्रा, अर्चना जायसवाल व प्रमोद टंडन भी शामिल हैं। इन सभी के यहां सुरक्षा प्रबंध और पुख्ता कर दिए गए हंै। अर्चना कार्यालय पर दिनभर संघियों का जमावड़ा रहा और यही से प्रसारित निर्देशों के आधार पर संघ कार्यकर्ताओं का मूवमेंट होता रहा।

लखनऊ। भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के युवा नेता वरूण गांधी का मानना है कि "बड़े भैय्या" यानि राहुल गांधी उनके जनरेशन के नहीं हैं। वरूण गांधी ने बुधवार को कांग्रेस महासचिव और चचेरे भाई राहुल गांधी पर अप्रत्यक्ष तौर पर निशाना साधा।

वरूण के अनुसार राहुल गांधी के साथ उनकी कोई तुलना नहीं हो सकती, क्योंकि दोनों के बीच "जनरेशन गैप" है। वरूण ने कहा है कि "राहुल जी मुझसे दस साल बड़े हैं। मैं उन्हें अपनी जनरेशन का नहीं मानता।" उल्लेखनीय है कि वरूण उत्तर प्रदेश के बाढ़ग्रस्त इलाकों का तीन दिवसीय दौरा करने की योजना बना रहे हैं। भाजपा नेता लखनऊ से सटे हरदोई जिले के बाढ़ग्रस्त इलाकों का दौरा करेंगे।

उत्तर प्रदेश के पीलीभीत से भाजपा सांसद वरूण गांधी ने पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए कहा कि "मेरा मानना है कि राजनीति कभी भी चुनाव केन्द्रित नहीं होनी चाहिए, बल्कि गरीबों पर केन्द्रित होनी चाहिए।" वरूण ने केन्द्र और राज्य सरकार पर उदासीनता का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश की लगभग एक करोड़ जनता नदियों के किनारे बसती है, लेकिन इसके बावजूद उन्हें बाढ़ से बचाने के लिए संबंधित योजनाएं लागू नहीं की जाती। उन्होंने कहा कि "मैं जनता को यह बताने आया हूं कि उनके सुख-दुख में हम हमेशा उनके साथ हैं।"
