नई दिल्ली। कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी के विदेश दौरे की वापसी के बाद तृणमूल कांग्रेस के साथ सीटों के बंटवारे को लेकर आज फैसला होने की उम्मीद है। सूत्रों के मुताबिक आज शाम होने वाली बैठक में सोनिया इस मुद्दे पर अंतिम निर्णय ले सकती हैं। ज्ञात हो, ममता बनर्जी द्वारा कांग्रेस को उम्मीदवारों की लिस्ट जारी करने की दी गई डेडलाइन आज समाप्त हो रही है। 

उल्लेखनीय है कि शुक्रवार को ममता ने 228 सीटों के लिए अपने उम्मीदवारों की घोषणा कर दी थी और कांग्रेस के लिए सिर्फ 64 सीटें और एक और सहयोगी दल सोशलिस्ट यूनिटी सेंटर ऑफ इंडिया के लिए 2 सीटें छोड़ी थीं। कांग्रेस टीएमसी के इस फैसले से नाखुश है। 

ममता ने कहा कि "हम खुश होंगे यदि कांग्रेस सोमवार तक अपने उम्मीदवारों की सूची जारी कर देती है वर्ना हम इन सीटों पर भी अपने उम्मीदवारों को खड़ा करेंगे।" पश्चिम बंगाल में आगामी विधानसभा में सीटों पर बंटवारे पर दोनों पार्टियों के बीच कोई हल नहीं निकला है। जबकि आज ममता द्वारा कांग्रेस को दिए गए अल्टीमेटम का आखिरी दिन है।

राज्य में 18 अप्रेल से 10 मई तक छह चरणों में विधानसभा चुनाव होने हैं। मतगणना 13 मई को की जाएगी। उम्मीदवारों के नामों का ऎलान करने की अंतिम तिथि 31 मार्च है।

केरल के उम्मीदवारों का भी ऎलान संभव

सूत्रों के अनुसार सोमवार को कांग्रेस 13 अप्रेल को होने वाले केरल विधानसभा चुनावों के लिए 81 उम्मीदवारों के नामों की घोषणा कर सकती है। मतगणना 13 मई को होगी।

सोनिया ने एक अंग्रेजी दैनिक से कहा कि "मुझे कोई परवाह नहीं थी कि सरकार गिरे अथवा बचे। डीएमके द्वारा समर्थन वापस लेने का मुझ परकोई दबाव नहीं था। लेकिन हमने बातचीत जारी रखी। यह सरकार बचाने का सवाल नहीं था और न ही मेरी व्यक्तिगत प्रतिष्ठा का सवाल था बल्कि यह भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस की प्रतिष्ठा का सवाल था।"

सोनिया ने इस बात पर आश्चर्य जताया कि जिस पार्टी ने अपने सहयोगी दल के साथ हमेशा अच्छा बर्ताव किया हो वह कैसे हमारे साथ ऎसी सौदेबाजी कर सकती है। गौरतलब है कि तमिलनाडु विधानसभ चुनावों के लिए सीटों के बंटवारे के मुद्दे पर दोनों पार्टियों के बीच मतभेद हो गए थे। कांग्रेस 163 सीट लेनेपर अड़ी थी जिसके बाद डीएमके ने यूपीए सरकार से अपने मंत्रियों को हटा लिया था। हालांकि दोनों के बीच लंबी बातचीत के बाद कांग्रेस को 163 सीटें मिलने पर सहमति बनी थी।

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has resolved to train its guns on Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, as it believes he was the catalyst for the campaign against "Hindu terrorism". " We strongly believe there is nothing called Hindu terrorism.

It is something coined by some politicians to malign the RSS. The central investigating agencies started justifying this after Rahul Gandhi met US Ambassador Timothy Roemer in 2009 and later compared us with the Students Islamic Movement of India," Ram Madhav, executive council member and former spokesperson of the RSS said here on Wednesday.

"We know he is one of the catalysts behind the negative drive against the Sangh," Madhav added.

He said the Sangh will start a nationwide grih sampark abhiyan (door-to-door campaign) against the UPA to tell the people how the Congress leader was directing central investigating agencies to target the RSS for political gains.

Madhav said the campaign was on in some parts of the country from mid- January and that it will be held in UP from February 6 to 20.

"We will explain to the people how Sangh members were dragged into the Samjhauta case. We want a proper investigation, but the Congress is trying to raise the issue as a tool to gain political mileage," he said.

The RSS man claimed that no member of the Sangh was named in the charge sheets filed in the Mecca masjid and Ajmer dargah blast cases.

"But a so- called confessional statement of Asimanand was selectively leaked to the media. The statement of Rahul Gandhi came first and then the investigation was started in that direction. So while we are all set to fight a legal battle against those who are maligning us, we also want to turn a little aggressive against them and tell the people about the conspiracy," he said.

The chances of Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) merging with the Congress in Andhra Pradesh brightened considerably on Thursday after a meeting of the party's MLAs and district unit chiefs gave complete carte blanche to  Chiranjeevi to decide whether they should merge with the Congress or merely form an alliance.

“Chiranjeevi will meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi before the end of the week. We have not put forth any pre-conditions for the talks,” PRP leader C Ramachandraiah said.

“On its own, the PRP cannot deliver social justice, the plank on which it was formed. So we will welcome whatever decision Chiranjeevi takes on ties with the Congress,” Ramachandraiah added.

The Congress in Andhra badly needs the PRP on its side. It has 155 members in the 294-member house but is worried about the threat posed by former party MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the son of late chief minister YS Rajashekara Reddy.

At least 25-30 Congress legislators have openly pledged allegiance to Jagan, who quit the Congress in November last year.

Facing the threat of a no-confidence motion in the upcoming assembly session, the Kiran Kumar Reddy government will be on a sticky wicket if the Jagan suppoorters choose to vote against it, or even abstain. To keep the government safe, it needs to rope in the PRP, which has 18 legislators.

The PRP, however, is divided on what kind of relationship the party should forge with the Congress.While a majority of the legislators reportedly favour an outright merger, with an eye on getting ministerial berths, another group wants to go slow, try out an alliance first and gradually take it to the next level.
